My brick wall, Louise A Hobbs!
If ever there was a brick wall in genealogy, it is this.
Louise A Hobbs was my husband's grandmother. You can see her standing on the left wearing a coat. Must have been cold. The two girls are Lula (Lulu) and Lesta (Lestie) were her step daughters. I have no clue in the world who Steve is. But he was 42.
The back of the picture lets me know that she died January 19, 1919. This was during the flu epidemic. People were dropping like flies back then.
We started working on Lloyd's family tree way back in about 2000 or so. For seven years I looked for his family and worked on and built his family tree. I don't believe any of his family ever actually read the books we made for them which contained the family tree. I might be wrong but recent conversations have led me to believe this. Enough said there.
My quest, my main quest, has been to find the burial place for Louise Hobbs Woodson. They were living in Louisiana, Missouri when she died. I can't find her anywhere. All I know is her date of death as above.
Family story has it that she was half Cherokee. The entire family believes this to be true. I can't prove or disprove that fact. Fact is she had a sister who appeared to me to possibly be Native American.

Margaret Lucinda (Maggie) Hobbs appears to me to be Native American. I could be wrong. But she is buried in Oklahoma.
I continue to look for Louise quite frequently. I'm have no idea if I will ever find her.
She is definitely my brick wall.
